Surf lessons in Tamarindo
We teach on a sand-bottom beach with waist-deep water, at whatever pace you need. Our school is open to everyone — you do not have to be staying at the hostel to book a lesson.
Who these lessons are for
Never surfed before
Most of the people we teach are standing up on their first lesson. You do not need any experience or your own gear.
Surfed once, years ago
We pick up where you left off instead of starting from zero. Tell your instructor what you remember and they adjust.
Already surfing, want to improve
Smaller groups and private lessons focused on what is actually holding you back: paddling, timing, or the pop-up.
What is included
Board and rash guard
Stable boards and rash guards in every size, included in the price.
ISA-certified instructor
Patient, with a zero-pressure approach. No one gets pushed into a wave they do not want.
Sand-bottom beach
No rocks, waist-deep water. The safest stretch in Tamarindo to learn on.
Two hours in the water
Each lesson runs two hours. We schedule it around the tide and what is available that day, so tell us which days you are around.
Group lesson prices
Maximum 4 people per instructor, so nobody spends the lesson waiting their turn. Price is per group — the more of you, the less each pays.

Private lessons
One instructor, just for you. Worth it if you want to progress fast, if you are nervous in the water, or if you prefer not to learn in a group. Ask us for availability and pricing.
Where we meet
At the hostel, on Calle Cruz y Cardinal, a five-minute walk from the beach. We walk down together with the boards.
Book a lesson
Write to us on WhatsApp with the dates you have in mind and how many of you there are. We answer with availability and confirm the spot.
Ask on WhatsAppFree cancellation up to 24 hours before. If the ocean is not in shape, we reschedule or refund.

Before you book
Do I need any experience?
No. Lessons are for all levels and most people stand up on their first one.
Are the lessons women only?
No. The hostel is women only, but the surf school is mixed and open to everyone, whether you are staying with us or not.
Do I have to stay at the hostel to take a lesson?
No. Anyone can book, guest or visitor.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, sunscreen and water. The board and rash guard are included.
What if I have to cancel?
Cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the lesson at no cost. And if the ocean is not in shape to teach that day, we reschedule it or give you your money back — you never lose out because of the surf.
Need a bed after your lesson?
Our hostel is women-only — safe, clean, and a short walk from the beach.
